This piece draws inspiration from the untamed, emotionally charged brushwork of Joan Mitchell, whose fearless approach to color and form sought to capture the raw, unspoken energies of nature. It also reflects the wild, abundant growth found in the heart of a tropical garden, where life bursts forth in unpredictable, radiant patterns. Like Mitchell, I sought to paint not just what I see, but what I feel — the joy of tropical flowers, the whispers of leaves in the wind, the flicker of light through branches, the pulse of life rising from the earth.

Artist’s Intent:
I hope viewers feel a sense of boundless freedom and possibility, a connection to the wild, uncontainable beauty of the natural world. I want them to sense the aliveness within the quiet spaces, to feel the rush of color and movement, and to remember the fierce joy of being alive.

Medium, Subject Matter, and Style:
Acrylic and mixed media allow me to layer textures, capture fleeting moments of light, and create a sense of movement that mirrors the ever-changing nature of the world. The vibrant greens, wild strokes, and bursts of color echo the chaotic order of a garden in full bloom, a place where life thrives without restraint.
