Inspired by a commissioned artwork, Joyous Wonder, that was created for a truly remarkable woman—a kind soul who brings joy and light to the lives of many.

She had asked for something from my heart, a painting to reflect the white hydrangeas she loves and cannot grow in her garden.

As I painted her painting, I created a ‘soul sister” painting, infusing both blooms with memories and soul feelings of the love she gives so freely to others. As soon as I unwrapped her painting, Joyous Wonder,  she gasped and said, “It’s so beautiful.”

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Just that:

so beautiful.

Then, without a second thought, her husband banged nails in the new walls of their architecturally designed home and hung Joyous Wonder. “Just loving our beautiful painting!!”

Beautiful Hydrangeas, is my love-infused tribute to Lee and Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo created twins of some of his most significant works and his love of the dance of light and dark is legendary. I feel so blessed to have so many muses to inspire me.
